Today was my first day back in the gym after my weekend in Miami. I ended up doing about 2 hours, twice my normal time in the gym as a way to catch up on all the days I took off. By the end of the second hour, I wanted to go on an do a 60 minute spin class but as soon as I sat down to catch my breath, it was over for my. My entire body had pretty much turned to mush by then and I could barely lift my water bottle let alone walk under my own weight. So I called it a day, slivered my way to my car and headed home.
Thus for today's painting, I will be adding a new strength triangle, the first I have added to the painting in a while it seems.

Let me start by saying happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. You guys are the reason we exist and I just wanna say thank you for enduring the child birth. So to honor the mother in my life, knowing that women love flowers, in addition to buying her a beautiful custom picked bouquet of tulips I planned a botanical getaway in the city of San Marino in Southern California. We went to the Huntington Botanical garden where we got to walk through Huntington's botanical gardens covering 120 acres complete with themed gardens containing rare plants from around the world. The gardens are divided into more than a dozen themes, including the Australian Garden, Camellia Collection, Children's Garden, Desert Garden Conservatory, Conservatory for Botanical Science, Desert Garden, Herb Garden, Japanese Garden and Zen Garden, Lily Pond, North Vista, Palm Garden, Rose garden, Shakespeare garden, Subtropical and Jungle Garden, the Chinese Garden. We spent the most of our time in the Japanese and Zen gardens where we go to reflect on life and all it's blessings. I have never seen so much of nature's beauty in one place. She also loved the experience and a great time was had by all.
So for today's painting, I will honoring not just mothers but the trilogy of womanhood namely mothers, sisters and daughters. All three will be represented by the flower specie that I grew up around and love the most which are Tulips. They will be painted in my three favorite colors of Tulips i.e. white, purple and red.

Today was a very interesting day and my title says it all. I woke up to sirens blasting outside my balcony and as I went to see what all the commotion was. Apparently, a man had climbed the telephone pole right outside my window to try to commit suicide. So the DWP came in full force with the cops & firemen in tow and turns power off in north Hollywood. So as I watched everything unfolding, I couldn't help but wonder why he chose such a beautiful sunny California day to commit suicide. More importantly, I had the whole thing, or at least a considerable part of it caught on camera. Anyways I had a very important engagement to attend so I had to leave the action and continue with my life. So I am sad to say I don't know how it ended but I hope the guy is alright and is being helped for his suicidal tendencies. I was wondering why he didn't get shocked but then I remembered that the DWP had cut the power and perhaps saved his life. Check out the exclusive pic below.
So today's painting will be exactly what I saw. No metaphors, no creative spin, just a gut walking between two power lines.

After seeing the sequel to one of my favorite movie of all time (Ironman) I can't seem to get it out of my head. I often catch myself daydreaming about what it would be like to possess such a suit. Although I wasn't as amazed as I was after seeing the first one, this is a decent second and it was worth the wait in the sense that I just had to get it out of the way. And as you probably guessed, this whole weekend is gonna be an Ironman weekend just because I wont be able to escape all the media hoopla about it since this is it's opening weekend. Hopefully something more interesting than Ironman happens to me tomorrow.
So for today's painting, I will be painting a reddish-yellowish fire circle in the center of my painting to symbolize Ironman's strongest weapon which is a sort of photon blaster embedded into his palm. It also acts as a rocket booster which helps him to fly. Call me a nerd but Ironman is the shizz!!

Ever since the first Ironman came out, I have been waiting for the second installment. Although my cynicism towards Hollywood's tendency to almost always (with a very few exceptions namely Spiderman 2) mess up sequels still held, I had high hopes for this sequel in particular. And I have to say I wasn't entirely disappointed. It gave me a healthy share of action but really lacked a strong plot. But still it is Ironman for Christ sake so I happy it's finally here. I will say though that the preview for THOR made up for whatever deficit the movie had in my opinion.
So for today's painting, I will be adding an old classic style movie ticket stub into my old classic movie reel from day 110.

Happy Cinco de Mayo people and just like on St' Patrick's day, everyone is a Mexican for a day. So I guess I too will be pulled over in Arizona for driving while Mexican. What a terrible law. Anyways back to Cinco de Mayo which is Spanish for "fifth of May" and according to Wikipedia, is a holiday held on May 5 that commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza SeguĂn. It is celebrated primarily in the state of Puebla and in the United States. While Cinco de Mayo sees limited significance and celebration nationwide in Mexico, the date is observed nationwide in the United States and other locations around the world as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico's Independence Day, the most important national patriotic holiday in Mexico.
So for today's painting, I'm gonna be painting on a sombrero. And as I look through the painting, I see the perfect place to add my Cinco de Mayo sombrero. Since I already have a festivity hat of another kind from day 87 on my smiley face from day 83, I can just add the signature sombrero brim below it to turn the hat into a sombrero in honor of Cinco de Mayo.

As the saying goes, 'home is where the heard it' and truer words have never been spoken. Even thought the Gansevort hotel in Miami has very expensive beds and linens, it is not my bed and thus doesn't come close to giving me a 'GOOD' night sleep. Yes I slept well, as well as anyone does as a guest in someone else's house. But it just does not compare to home. My bed here is 'MINE', it has by dents and grooves in it that fits 'ME' and only me perfectly. So like Alice said, 'there's no place like home'. I wish I could travel with my bed then I can just keep going and going without having getting home sick. For someone like me that's often on the road, it is very important to have something with you that retains you home comfort. That way you never feel alone or homesick...at least not as much.
So for today, I will be painting a heart around my house on the sand addition from day 93 to represent the fact that home IS where my heart is.

As all good things must come to an end and so does my Miami trip. I must say, I did accomplish everything I went to Miami to do and was also able to fit in some play time. As I headed westward, I have to say I was a little sad to be leaving but at the same time, happy to be heading home knowing that this trip has set a few things in motion that will benefit my career moving forward.
So today I will be painting some more clouds because again I had a layover this time in Denver and spent another 8 hours total in the clouds.

After a day of studio sessions and meetings, I finally have a good chunk of time to enjoy the Miami sun. So today I'm gonna play tourist for a few hours, taking in the sights complete with pina colada in hand. It all culminated with me on a beach chair under some palm trees a couple feet away from the ocean.
So today's painting will be of a palm tree which is an appropriate symbol for Miami.

As predicted on day --, Money Mayweather defeat Sugar Shane Mosley. It was a very intense and exciting flight, with Mosely seeming like he stood a good chance during the first three rounds. However Floyd bounced back like a spring and dominated the rest of the fight only loosing one round to Mosley.
So short from gloating about my successful prediction, I will be painting a star round my 'FM' addition from that day to emphasize the fact that I was right.
