Just arrived in in NY and ready to take a bite outta the Big Apple. It's always busy here, it's like everyone is in a rush to get somewhere. I think I should just follow one random person for a it and see where it is these New Yorkers are always in a hurry to. It was a long flight from the west coast so I'm gonna be crashing early but I look forward to an exciting few days ahead with my record label and other business associates.

So for today, I will be converting my broken heart from day 82 into an apple to represent the Big Apple that is New York. Can you make out the apple?

For a few reasons I can't discuss publicly yet, I'm having what I call a very green day. A very green thing happened to me today and I couldn't be happier. Culturally, green has broad and sometimes contradictory meanings. In some cultures, green symbolizes hope and growth, while in others, it is associated with death, sickness, envy, or the devil. For the purposes of this post, I will be allying myself with the first association for the color green because today was a day that gave me tremendous hope for growth both in my personal life and in my career. That's pretty much all I can say for now by I promise to elaborate at a later date.

So I'm obviously going to be painting something in the color green today. I guess I might as well go ahead and drop a second clue to how my day went by painting this green around my map of Africa. Africa is where I was born, a place I call my motherland. Since I have pretty much stuck to geometric shapes in this area besides the maps of Africa and Haiti, I choose not to deviate from that theme. But I need to mix it up a bit and not just paint another square triangle because as we all know by now, the triangle has come to represent something specific in my painting. So this time, I will paint a square in green around my map of Africa.

PS: I'm heading to the Big Apple first thing tomorrow morning. So although I will be taking my sketch pad with me, I wont be updating my mosaic until I get back in about 4 days. So hang tight people.

Today was a very uneventful day. I pretty much spent the better part of it under a tree at my local park and there was nowhere else I'd rather be. I could for once hear myself think and I think I fell asleep a couple times. Add to that the fact that it was about 68 degrees today in LA and you have a recipe for an exhilarating day. Since I have to head out to crazy 24/7 NY is a few days, I need to savor my time in nature with all the peace and quiet I can get. When was the last time you slept under a tree? This is something I haven't done since I was a kid. So it was fun to slip back into that frame of mind when things were a lot simpler.

So today I will be painting a tree or attempting to paint something that hopefully remotely resembles a tree. Let's see how it turns out.

Although it's a day after my birthday, I'm still in the birthday spirit and when I hit the gym, I did the first fitness routine of my new year on earth. And since this was a day of new beginnings, I added a few new sets to my fitness routine as suggested by my fitness instructor. So hopefully in a few months, I would be unveiling a new chiseled physic just in time for Summer.

If you have been following me on this journey for the last 87 days, you will know that whenever i go to the gym, I paint a fitness triangle. If you wanna know why a triangle, you would have to read up on previous posts. However since I'm still in the birthday spirit, I decided to do something a little different with my fitness triangle. Today's triangle will represent something else in addition to fitness. By placing the triangle on the head of my smiley face from day - - and giving it a few festive designs, I will look like one of those birthday party cone hats which is another item that every birthday party shouldn't go without.

What more can I say about today that goes without saying. Today was my birthday and I got to spend it with family which is a big deal for my. You see unlike most people who'd rather celebrate their birthday ad nightclubs with random people, I do that ofter on account of my job which takes me to numerous venues performing. So I seldom get to spend time with family and those I love. So as a gift to myself, I spent my entire birthday with family because they are truly a gift from God.

So continuing in the celebration theme carrying on from yesterday with the candles, I will be painting balloons today because a party ain't really a birthday celebration unless there are balloons and candles. So I gat them both covered in my painting.

Today marks the eve of my birthday...yes 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.' So as i prepare to lay my head down tonight and look forward to the completion of another God given year on this earth, I am thankful for all that I have and all those in my life. Many have come and gone through these many years but one thing remains...family will always be there. They say you can choose your friends but you can't choose your family. Well I couldn't have chosen a better family and a few friends that I consider like family. So before all the birthday wishes and festivities, I wanna just say to those who have stuck by me through it all (Family and some friends) I am deeply grateful to have you in my life.

So we all know that it is taboo for an entertainer to give his/her age, thus I wont be saying how old I will be tomorrow, but I will that the figure is a multiple of 4. And that is the theme for my painting today. I will be painting four burning candles unto my prison bars over music from day 25.

Today is definitely a day that I will remember for the rest of my life. Although I cannot elaborate on why it is so special to me and my career due to contractual obligations, I will say that in the today marks the beginning of a new and exciting relationship whose fruits you will begin to see in the coming months.

So I'm not gonna try to do anything fancy other than figure out a creative way to embed today's days (03/25/2010) into the painting. And since I grew up in Europe where the presentation of dates makes more sense as it is in ascending order (25/03/2010), I will be using this method of dates instead. I have decided to paint the dates in ascending order into my music bars from day 4 because this date is very important to my musical career. So what better place to put this date than on the very reason the date is important to me in the first place.

You know those days when everything seems to just go right, well...today was one of those days. I guess we can say my ship has finally come in. A couple things I've been anxiously waiting on finally came through today and it couldn't have come a moment too soon. I guess it is true what they say; 'God's time is the best'. I am realizing that if these things would have happened much earlier, which was when I wanted them to, I wouldn't have been prepared for it. As I look at my life now and where how much I have grown as a person, all I can say is thank God it came when it came.

So for today, I will be painting a smiley face to represent this AWESOME day. Since the smiley face is always followed by the phrase 'have a nice day', I have decided to use it to represent the nice day that I just had. Also I see a prefect place for my smiley face right at the bottom of the painting. See I will be using my relaxation hammock from day 34 as the smile on the face. From there I will just build my smiley face around it.

Can't a man be rich, famous and faithful? I have to believe it is possible because I want to be in love and have my love stand the test of time. But with the almost daily revelation of another celebrity shocking story of infidelity from Tiger Woods to Jessie James to Kobe Bryant and everyone in-between, one might be led to think that the odds are seriously against you. I mean if someone like Tiger Woods, the pinnacle of sportsmanship and dedication to a cause can be so lackadaisical in this very important aspect of his life, what hope is there for the rest of us. Bus as I look ore in depth into these stories, I find one common thread...obsession. Whether it be towards a particular sport like Golf or a career like making motorbikes, etc, this obsession needs to be balanced out by something opposite, perhaps an extremely lax attitude to something else as equally important in their life. So I guess the key here is balance, that way the scale does not have to swing to an extreme on another aspect of your life. So somebody please stop me the day I start obsessing about music.

So for today's painting, I have decided to convert the division of day 28 into a divided heart to represent all the broken hearts out there that has been caused by an obsessive rich and famous man. I also continued the theme of one half blue and the other half red to represent the difference and division between the sexes. However I left a sliver of red, perhaps a sliver on hope that our feminine sides would help caution us against indulging in all the excesses that being rich and famous has to offer.

Today would have been another typical day in the gym except for the fact I ran into an LA Laker at the gym. And as a huge fan of the Lakers it sure was a treat. So for today, I will be painting my usual triangle but this time it will be representative of the Lakers. Since I already have a purple triangle from day --, and the Lakers signature color is purple and gold. So I will paint a gold triangle into the already purple triangle to create a purple and gold triangle.
