Day 71 - WRITERS BLOCK
71 days down, 294 go.
I've been trying for the last 4 hours to write and compose a song to an instrumental but I keep drawing a blank. I have tried various variations of melodies and lyrics but still not to my satisfaction. So I have decided to leave it for a few days and hopefully come back with a fresh perspective. Because right now, my ears are burnt out.

So my painting will be an empty thought bubble to represent the lack of traction I have with this particular instrumental and song. I hope I can fill this bubble up in a few days when I come back to this song and have a go at it again.

Day 70 - WERE ALMOST THERE
70 days down, 295 go.
I'm almost there people. Today marked what I would call perhaps my last day of deliberation on my big career decision. And since the weekend is upon us, I can either make my decision tomorrow or take the weekend to really make sure it's the right one. No one makes big decisions of Friday anyways so I think I'm gonna be holding off til' Monday to give my answer. But rest assured people and everyone concerned, I have made my decision. Now all that comes next is a day or two to make sure I don't have second thoughts. It's like working out on a treadmill...after you are done with the program you select, the machine gives you another few minutes of cool-down time. So I guess after the intense workout that was this decision, my thoughts need a few days to calm back down from it's very heightened and stressed out state.

Thus for today's painting, I will further elasticize my time from yesterday into another bar to symbolize the coming weekend and cool-down time. And if all this don't make sense to you, remember that it's art and therefore it is what you make of it.

Day 69 - ELASTIC TIME
69 days down, 296 go.
The events of today gat me wishing time was elastic just like the scientist say it is. I wish I can stretch a week's worth of time to 2 weeks or more because I'm still yet to make my big decision and as I deliberate, I can't help but notice we are already 10 days into March and time is beginning to disagree with me. So I'm gonna have to make my big decision in before weeks end. But until then, I'm gonna take a stroll down Imaginationland and act like my time is elastic so in my head I still have time to make my decision. So there you go, the urgency has been erased for yet another day but I don't know how long I can have me head in the clouds.

Well at least for today, I will extend my time painting from yesterday up to the next bar, giving it a wider cross-section and thus an extended time contained withing. It's a lot easier to understand from the painting.

Day 68 - AS THE WIND BLOWS
68 days down, 297 go.
Today has been the windiest day I've seen all year.as I drove to the gym, my Q7 almost got blown over and if u know anything about the Audi #7, it weighs over 2 tons and its Quattro meaning its all wheel drive. In layman's terms, that sucker was built to grip the road. So the most memorable event of my day today can be summed up in two word...WIND & TRAFFIC.

So today my painting will be to represent the prevailing winds that we encountered here today. I will be painting them above my traffic congestion from day 5.

Day 67 - TIME IS ALMOST UP
67 days down, 298 go.
It has been brought to my attention that I am four weeks into making my major career decision. However like Obama I like to examine all the options available and come up with an educated and informed decision. But I can sense that anticipation fatigue is beginning to dawn on those waiting on me for my decision. But like my mother always told me, surround yourself with people smarter than you and you will never make a bad decision. So that I have done and I await the final word from my advisers.

I acknowledge that time is of the essence and thus my painting is going to again reflect this. Today I will be painting a clock unto the circle at the bottom of my 'music behind bars' addition originally from day 25. As time is almost running out on my, I will paint a clock that is almost out of time into the circle thus liberating the last item from day 25 and expressing two distinct but complementary themes as follows: TIME to make my very important decision about my MUSIC is running out.

Day 66 - GOLDEN RAIN
66 days down, 299 go.
YEEEESSSS!!! At least one of my predictions came true...Mo'Nique won 'Best Supporting Actress. Although it rained on and off, she still shined in all her Oscar gold. So today as a tribute to both the rain and Mo'Nique winning Oscar gold, I will be painting a golden raindrop.

Day 65 - RAIN RAIN RAIN
65 days down, 300 go.
You know me and the rain...when it rains, I essentially shut down for business. I seldom feel motivated to to anything even getting out of bed when it rains. I am this way for two main reasons' the first being that it hardly ever rains in LA so people are not used to driving in the rain. Thus accidents litter the roads when it rains in LA. I'd like to stay away from all that skid-alicious craziness. Secondly, the rain brings with it a darkish view outside due to the low rain filled clouds. Thus my primal instincts make me want to cuddle up in bed and take a nap. So when you bring these two things together, it is no wonder I lack motivation to do anything when it rains.

So not wanting to do much on my painting today because I wanna get back to bed, I will just be adding another raindrop to my rain cluster.

Day 64 - OSCAR TRAFFIC
64 days down, 301 go.
Unless you've been under a rock for the past ween you are aware that the Oscars are this weekend. Every news channel and entertainment media has been touting the impending gala for the past few days now. And regardless of whether you are gonna be watching or not, you are probably gonna be or should be rooting for Avatar. So Im just gonna go ahead and call it right now. I hereby predict that James Cameron's Avatar will take the most awards by the end of the night. I'm also predicting Monique will take one home for her role in 'Precious'. That's as far as my predictions go…as for the other contenders, I don;t really care much.

If you live in Hollywood like me, the epicenter of the entertainment industry, you probably have been dealing with the massive traffic jams on Hollywood streets due to the closing of the main boulevard that ha been shut down for the Oscars. Living with this nightmare, it's a wonder I even bother to leave the house in the last few days. It's important to understand that blocking off this vital section of Hollywood boulevard which covers about 3 blocks in fron of the Kodak theater where the awards will be taking place, essentially chokes off the main transportation artery for Hollywood commuters. It's so bad that a trip that normally takes 5min now takes about 30min. Thank heavens it's for only one week but still I don't see how this benefits me or other regular Hollywood residents who have nothing to do with the Oscars. I guess the only way to make Hollywood can make it up to us is to give us more movies like Avatar this year.

So today's painting is gonna be influenced by all this…Oscars and traffic congestion. Now since I already have traffic congestion depicted on my painting, I will add something to give it that Oscar touch. I will be painting one of the traffic blobs in gold to represent Oscar gold.

Day 63 - MUSIC TIL THE CRAK OF DAWN
63 days down, 302 go.
Got really involved with a musical concept I've been toiling with for a while and before I knew it, I had been in the studio for over 12 hours without a break or sleep. So the only thing I can think of to paint as I struggle to keep awake is the final liberation if my musical waves that were once behind bars. Here is is...

Day 62 - RGB ALL DAY
62 days down, 303 go.
Any geek out there knows that RGB is the building block of anything presented in the visual spectrum for electronics. Wikipedia defines the RGB color model is an additive color model in which red, green, and blue light are added together in various ways to reproduce a broad array of colors. But little know that this also represents the foundation of every color we see with the naked eye. Now what does RGB have to do with anything you might ask, well I'm glad you did.

First of all let me tell you about my day. I engaged in a double dose of cardio today, the first on an elliptical machine at my gym, and the second by taking a run in the park on my way home. My trainer always encourages me to take a run in the park every now and then to complement my cardio routine. And if you remember, the last time I took a run in the 'Cardio In Nature' park was on day 52's after which I painted a green triangle at the bottom of my painting. So it was logical to add my strength triangle of today next to it. However since today featured a double dose of exercise, I decided to add a second triangle, one on both sides of Day 52's triangle painted in one blue and the other red.

Now that brings me to the RGB title. Since I had already used green in to represent the previous cardio in the park session with all the beautiful array of color of foliage I got to experience, I decided to take it a little deeper. Since RGB is the basis for every color in the visual spectrum, I decided to paint the additional triangles in red and blue to complete the RGB trinity. This perfectly represents all the beauty in color that nature has to offer. You should take a run in the park sometime...you might be inspired too.
