241 days down, 124 to go.
Today for some reason, I woke up with a serious case of the blues and I couldn't shake it for most of the day. I don't know if it was something I ate or the weather. The weather did all of a sudden get quite cold today so maybe that affected my mood. Or maybe it's because my musical icon Michael Jackson birthday was yesterday and I was reminded of the sorrow I feel due to his passing. But whatever the reason was, I had to remind myself that I have been blessed with an awesome life and the opportunity to do what I love so compared to most people in the world, I am tremendously blessed. So that seemed to do the trick and now I've shaken the blues just in time for my HBO Sunday night triple combo of Hung, Entourage and True Blood...yay!!
So for today's addition, I will be painting a black tie onto my smiley face from day 83, inspired by The Blues Brothers movie and pretty much the quintessential blues musician look which is to rock a black tie and a suit. However upon examining the space on my canvas I had to work with, I decided it would be better visually to paint on a bow tie instead of a neck tie. The motivation and idea is still the same, just the execution is slightly different. But you get the idea... Also I chose to paint the blues underneath my smiley face which represented a very good day that I had to remind myself the always rise above the blues and have a great day.

I don't have to remind you that today is a great day in recent human history. It was this very day 52 years ago that the world was blessed with a tremendous talent named Michael Jackson. Although now deceased, his impact and memory still lives on in every entertainer today. As an entertainer, Michael meant more to me than just a tremendous talent, he was and is a blueprint to becoming a true entertainer. Now I never got to meet the man so I cannot comment on his personal woes but I did get to meet him in death at his funeral and for that I am deeply honored.
so to celebrate MJ's birth, I will be painting on a '5' right in front of my MJ feet from day 178. So when you take the '5' together with the two feet, you get 52 which is how old he will be if he were alive today.

Another late night studio session leaving me all zombied out. So I couldn't really get into much today on account of me trying to catch up on my sleeping. But it's all to bring you great music so I ain't complaining.
Thus to represent this feeling that I call 'Zombie Music', I'm gonna paint some very faint musical notes into my blood splatter from day 214 because we all know blood and zombies go together like cops and robbers and the notes are faint because right now I can barely focus on anything.

It must be tough to be James Cameron these days, watching Avatar overtake Titanic and yet still wishing it could squeeze out just one or two more dollars at the cinema. Well, in true Cameron style, he and 20th Century Fox have found way to fix that: Avatar will be re-released in cinemas on August 27 in an exclusively 3D version with extra footage. And I have to say that I am one of the fools that will be going to the theaters to check it out in all it's nine minutes added glory.
With $2.7 billion in the bank so far, it’s not like Avatar needs the financial boost, but the chance to put out a new theatrical version (in advance of the planned special edition DVD set that will hopefully feature more extras) was surely a no-brainer for both the director and the studio.
So I'm gonna record this wonderful and exciting developments by adding something to my painting from another highly anticipated "sequel"; Ironman 2 of day 126. Although this is technically not a sequel, you get the idea. I will be painting the ticket in signature Avatar blue.

Today was one of those days that the minute you walked outside and felt the intense heat, you instantly though to your seal 'what a good day to be at the beach'. So that's what I did and it was worth the hours through traffic. I got to rent a beach umbrella and lay out in the sun. I did get a little sunburn tho but again I say it was worth it to just relax and do nothing for once.
So for today's addition, I will be planting a beach umbrella unto my sandy beach from day 79 when I first had a day at the beach this year.

Got pulled over for the first time in many years. The cop came over to my car as calmly asked "do you know why I pulled you over"? I abruptly answered "no officer...what did I do" the went on you say I was speeding and I couldn't do that, because it was against the law. So I told him "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me", but he still gave me a ticket. Who knows how much this lapse of judgment is now gonna cost me. I guess the moral of the store is pay attention the speed limit, speed does not shorten the road but it could shorten your life.
So for today's addition, I'm gonna paint an old school speed limit sign for 35 miles per hour which was the speed limit I apparently exceeded. I will place this sign right next to my Ferrari speedometer from day 215 because when you're behind the wheels of a Ferrari, all you wanna do is speed.

Fast forward to tomorrow is a saying I use when I need something to happen already. I have a few big things planned for the coming months and I just cant wait for these months to come all ready. I'm excited and all geared up to get on with it but alas time again is my for.
So today I'm gonna be painting a fast-forward symbol into the batter within my painting. This is for two reasons, the first being that I literally wanna fast-forward time and the second being that my excitement towards these coming months has me feeling doubly energetic today. I will do this by painting on another red arrow so that when viewed together with my Redbull arrow from day 156 they look like the fast-forward sign on your remote control.

Today was what I refer to as an arcade day. See my cousin has a two year old and it was his birthday. So he rented out an arcade for a few hours and pretty much let everyone run wild...both kids and adults. When it was all said and done, it was pretty darn obvious which of the two groups had the most fun. I think the sweat beading down my forehead and the armpit stains on pretty much all the adult guys said it all. I used to be a video game fanatic but like most things in life, I grew out of it. So it was fun to take a stroll back to those younger days and relive the memories of a time not so long ago when I got the thrill of obtaining the highest score on my favorite game which was and still it Pacman. It's such a timeless classic and when I do but a retro arcade style video game for my house, I'm gonna start with Pacman.
So for today's painting, I'm gonna be turning my smiley face from day 83 into Pacman on the prowl because playing it took me back to those innocent days when I hadn't a care in the world, much like a smiley face. It was really fun to catch 'Pacman Fever' after such a long time.

The white Blackberry bold seems to have peaked my interest after seeing a friend with one. It looks sleeker and classier than my run of the mill black black berry bold so I WANT IT. But lets look at it rationally. Since I can't just swap my cover for a white one (at least not that I know of), I will have to fork over another 500 bucks for what is essentially the same phone just in a different color. Now that I put it that way, it sounds really ridiculous to me. But still it looks cool and a guy can dream...
so for today's addition, I will be painting one of the blackberry blobs in my Blackberry logo from day 141 white to reflect this irrational want I am currently experiencing. I hope rational prevail and I don't give in.

Wyclef Jean's name has not been included on a list of approved presidential candidates for his native Haiti. Wyclef’s run for President has officially ended before it even started. A few hours ago the Haitian Presidential ballot was revealed after a lengthy wait. Wyclef Jean has not been permitted onto that ballot. The council declared him ineligible. I guess Pras and Sean Pen can breath a little easier. Wyclef's beloved Haiti doesn’t seem to love him in return–at least not those over the age of 30. Oh well. On to the next one.
So for this interesting developments, I will be painting over my question mark from day 221 with a 'denied' symbol.
Here is a closer look.
