181 days down, 184 to go.
We began this Mosaic365 project at the beginning of the year with only a wing and a prayer. When I embarked on this masterpiece, I was not really sure how far in I will get before the inevitable life distractions take over my priorities. Well I am proud to say that I'm half way there, 181 days in to be exact and what a cathartic journey and experience its been. In the process, I've learned a lot about myself and the things in life that influence/affect me. I look forward to completing the remainder of this years worth of paintings.
So as we move forward, here are a few words of advice for the next half of your year. If the first half of this year wasn't good for you, I advise you to change your focus right now and try starting something (perhaps a project) that you can engage in daily for the rest of the year starting today. I promise you that you sill discover the strength of commitment and follow-through. It is often said that great ideas are a dime a dozen but the success is in the execution. So if you can learn to stick with something all the way through the end, perhaps you can change the dynamics in your life that hamper your success. That's my two cents.
So for today's addition, I will be painting musical half note because I consider this project as a symphony which is now halfway done. Thus the musical half note would effectively represent this. And what better place to put it than right where my piano from day 106 is located.

Iconic broadcaster known for his suspenders, big ass glasses and many marriages announced this fall will be the end to “Larry King Live” on CNN. Larry has sat behind that desk of his and interviewed many interesting and dynamic people, who made American pop-culture and history. King stated that he wants to spend more time with his wife and young kids as the reason for him walking away. Out of all the people Larry King as interviewed he stated that Nelson Mandela is the most extraordinary person he has met. So what will become of the show where the host has interviewed over 50,000 times? Well according to King he would like Ryan Seacrest to take over! Lord have mercy, lets hope not!!! Here’s to you Larry King, we will miss your signature “Let’s go to Bryan from Tulsa…your on-live with Snoop Dogg. What’s your question?” Can't wait for those specials.
So for today's addition, I will instead of adding Larry's signature suspenders add another signature accessory of his which are his glasses. I will paint them unto my smiley with a tattoo tear on to to indicate the fact that all of broadcasting and perhaps the world would be shedding a tear when that inevitable day comes in the Fall. King said he will do occasional specials for CNN. He reached his 25-year anniversary this month and takes pride in a Guinness Book of World Records citation for hosting the longest-running show on the same network in the same time slot.

Ladies and gentlemen at 0800hrs I took a miss step unto a curb while I was BBMing and accidentally dropped my blackberry. So the screen is now cracked and bleeding ink of whatever thy call that fluid in the LCD screen. So yet again I have to replace my BB because I can't go a day without it. That means I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and shell out another bundle to replace my BB. I will have you know I only do this kicking and screaming. Maybe this time I will spring for the insurance. You never know how valuable insurance is on your PDA until something happens to it. So 'Never Again' I say...next time I will be prepared. Hopefully there wont be a next time. I only wish someone can come up with a glove that sticks to your BB so it can never fall from hour hands.
So for today's addition, I will be adding a crack to one of the bullet type thingy on my BB logo from day 141.

It took me all weekend to compose my thoughts and put a post up about my idol and musical hero Michael Jackson. This past weekend was the one year anniversary of his death and for those of you who follow me, you will remember that I had the rare opportunity of being invited to his memorial service at the Staples center. check out the pic below.
That was a sad day indeed. Not just for music but for the world. It also prompted me to write the Song 'The Lights Went Out tonight' as a tribute to MJ. Click here to watch the Youtube video.
Well to mark the one year anniversary of his death, I'm gonna be immortalizing him in my own life again by painting his signature legs unto my canvas. But before I do that, here are words to you Michael:
You have always been a great inspiration. I can say that I loved, and my great dream was to meet you in life but alas i met you in death! To me you always were and always will be the best, the king! Michael, I know you're an angel now and are still illuminating the lives of your fans! I can state that my heart will never leave you! I love you yesterday, today and always! Michael Jackson, you will be remembered for a very long time! Rest In Peace!
Here is a closer look. Rest In Peace Michael, you are and will be dearly missed.

Downtown LA's Exposition Park & The L.A. Coliseum for the last two days underwent a unique transformation as the Electric Daisy Carnival came to town! This was the craziest festival I've ever been to. It was a whimsical festival environment complete with five areas of music, carnival rides, vendor village, and an array of other festival amusements. I don't remember the last time I screamed and sang so loud to the point that I lose my voice by the end of the night. Time flew by without notice as I ended up spending over 10 hours at the EDC today. I got to experience Dada Life, Will-I-Am, Benny Benassi, Above & Beyond, Laid Back Luckie and AfroJack. What a day of wall to wall head pounding music. I'm not a raver but I can see how people can be really into this. I had a blast and if there was any doubt in my mind that dance music is the future of music, it's completely gone. I'm so happy that I'm signed to the worlds #1 dance label (Ultra Records) because this is where I need to be to gain my spot in this dance music future.
So my mind is all about daises today and rightfully so because that's all I was about today. Thus I will be panting a daisy for today's addition.

Today was the 23rd annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards awards which officially kicks off the BET Awards weekend. Eminem, Neyo, The Dream, Jeremih, Twista, Tank, Janelle Monáe, Jermaine Dupri and many more. But my personal highlight of the evening was Dr. Dre who is an icon in the music industry. I literally grew up listening to Dre, Snoop and the Dogg Pound and never in my wildest dream did I imagine that one day I would be sitting next to him. So never one to let an opportunity pass me by, I took a pic with him and this one is going up on the wall in my studio for sure. Here is the pic below.
So for today's addition, I will be painting the Dre's 'Beats By Dre' headphones on the head of my RX/Doctor symbol from day 80.

This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for! The new Apple iPhone 4 is out and this iPhone 4G is one of the most anticipated iPhones as of yet! I was one of the first people to get the original iPhone when it came out but I soon fell out of love with it and never got back to it until now. With the newly redesigned iPHone 4g, it's plenty reason for my to rekindle my romance with iphone. What’s even more special about this new iPhone 4 is the capabilities it has. From multi-tasking to video calling to so much more! Experts are saying that the iPhone 4 is the most improved version of the iPhone ever and I concur. The video calling alone got me at hello. However I'm not an Apple fanatic so I'm gonna wait like normal people until all the chaos and lines subside before I go pick up my iPhone 4.
So for today's addition, I initially thought of adding the apple logo but that will make me the very definition of an apple fanatic. So I will go for something less and settle for just the leaf off the apple logo and place it on the only thing that looks like a partially bitten apple on my painting which is the boxing glove from day 72.

Drakes highly anticipated debut album 'Thank Me Later' debuted at the top of the charts with first-week sales of 447,000. This constitutes one of the biggest openings ever for the debut album by a rap artist. It's bigger than Eminem's first week with The Slim Shady LP in February 1999 (283,000). It's even bigger than Kanye West's first week with The College Dropout in February 2004 (441,000). And today's sales climate is less favorable now than it was back then (to put it mildly).
As a recording artist who just release a debut single 'She Loves Me' (available now on itunes) and gearing up to release a major debut album in the coming months, it is comforting to see that there is hope for newcomers to the industry. Although Drake and RIZ are two different genres of artists, it still reigns true that with hard work, dedication and uniqueness, I too can emerge with a healthy one week sales numbers.
So for today's addition, I will be painting #1 right next to my gold record from day 30 as a congratulation to Drake and a prediction of similar success for my album 'iRIZistible' coming soon. In effect the #1 right before the gold record would literally stand for number one record.

Nigeria is out of the World Cup and I am deeply saddened. Although we drew 2-2 with South Korea, it wasn't enough to give us a stay of execution. Our previous losses to Argentina and Greece ensured our knock off but this draw with South Korea was the final nail in the coffin. But still I am proud of my team for getting this far. I guess life is filled with ups and downs...just yesterday I was celebrating the Laker victory parade and today I'm lamenting Nigeria's fall from the World Cup. Oh well life goes on and you win some you loose some!!
So for today's addition, I will be painting the Nigerian flag at half mass to represent the end of Nigeria's journey in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Today was the Laker victory parade and if you have attended it in the past, you know you have to be be out there and find you spot on the route no later than 5am. So evidently I sat this one out because I wasn't gonna spend my whole day waiting to see the trophy when I could just kick back at the crib and watch it on TV. So that's what I did and boy was is a beautiful sight to see our champions bring home the trophy. As far as the eye could see from the aerial helicopter shots, all you could see was people rocking the Laker purple and gold. They estimate the turnout to be anywhere from 500,000 to 2 million people. Now that's what I call a parade of epic proportions. For 2 million Angelenos to come out in such a hot 90 degrees plus weather, this was definitely a big deal.
So today I will be marking the Lakers victory parade on my canvas by painting the street sign for Figueroa Street which is the street in downtown Los Angeles that the Lakers victory parade route took. this street also passes by the Staples Center which is where the Lakers play and won the 2010 championships.
