171 days down, 194 to go.
To all fathers, step-fathers, fathers-in-law and everyone who plays the role of a father, thank you. This is a day honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. Fathers are the reason young boys grow up to me men and contribute positively to society as they impact the teachings and morals passed down on them from their fathers to their own children. A lack of good fathers or father figures is the reason so many young men and women are locked up in prison today. My father has always been an integral part of my life and it is evident in how I turned out. I can only hope and pray that when the time comes, I am half the man my father is to my own children. Happy father's day to my own dad Benjamin Nwosu and all the father's out there.
So to honor father's day and my dad in particular, I am painting the symbol of fatherhood and responsibility which is a neck tie. I will also be adding a golden crown atop it to symbolize the kingship I see in my dad. My father is a king in my own eyes and I will always honor and adore him. Finally I will be coloring the tie in signature Nigerian flag colors (green & white) because like me, my father is also Nigerian which is the reason I too am Nigerian and I won't trade him for the world.

BP chief executive officer Tony Hayward was allegedly out on his $270,000 racing yacht during the Isle of Wight boat race on day 61 of the BP oil spill catastrophe that’s dumped millions of gallons of crude into the Gulf of Mexico. BP confirmed Hayward attended the event, saying the race was Hayward’s first day off since the disaster began after the oil rig explosion April 20. Is this guy for real? His ass should should be doing more to deal with the spill and doesn’t deserve any time off until the crisis is resolved.
What do you think? Should Hayward be allowed a day off? If so, what kind of break should he be taking? Should he be out on his yacht at a widely watched race? Or should he have taken a more low key day off out of the public eye? Should he be taking off any days at all? How about other BP executives? Or is Hayward being unfairly criticized or falsely characterized for political reasons or by people who need a particular person to blame? What’s your opinion? I have the same answer to all these questions and it's a resounding NO!
So for today's addition, I will be painting the number 61 in my spill, 21 days since I painted the 40. I really can't believe it's been yet another 21 days and still the spill continues. This is horrible for the ecosystem beyond our most educated imaginations.

169 days down, 196 to go.
Today was a day of celebration for a dear family member and it was a packed house. Everyone I cared about was in attendance and what a lovely family moment. For those of you who undervalue the importance of family, you need to check yourself. Family is the backbone of every society and without a strong family background, we loose ourselves. Dare I go as far as saying most of societal problems has a bases in the lack of strong family structures. So lets get it right and keep the fam close at all time. You can replace friends but family is irreplaceable.
So for today's addition I will be painting will be marking this day of celebration by simply painting on today's date. I know it might seem simply but it is a very important date for me for many reasons one of which is that it brought my entire family together under one roof for a fun day of celebration. Si June 18th is a powerful day for me hence forth and I will always mark it with great enthusiasm.

Just as I predicted it on day 155, the Lakers are the 2010 NBA champions. It was Pau Gasol, our big man in the middle, who came through in a huge way down the stretch. The Celtics couldn't match up with him, and the Lakers kept going to him. This was bigger than one game, and even bigger than one championship. Keeping in mind that the Celtics had never lost a Game 7, this one was historic. That's not to say it was a pretty game
It wasn't just Gasol in the fourth quarter. Kobe was attacking the basket too, and both Derek Fisher and Artest hit huge three-pointers that helped take the pressure off. In the end, though, it was the big man who had the biggest impact. The Lakers can thank No. 16 for No. 16.
So for today's addition and to honor our champions, I will be painting both teams scores but this time, I will paint the Lakers score in gold to represent the gold trophy that's staying in LA for yet another year. Can you say three-peat!!

167 days down, 198 to go.
As I prepare for the birthday of a family member which I have taken upon myself to plan and execute, I don't think I have had a break in the lase few days. I have been to everywhere and back twice to make sure this shindig is a blowout. So evidently I am beginning to ear myself down and it is evident in my lack of enthusiasm to hit the gym in the last few days. But I'm sure I'll bounce back once this is all over.
So for today's painting, I am going to deplete my fully charged battery from day 119 just a bit to indicate some ware and tear brought on by the last few days of non-stop action.

The Lakers dominated the Celtics, 89-67, in Game 6 of the N.B.A. finals on today, forcing the series to a deciding game at the Staples Center on Thursday. Today’s outcome was in little doubt after the first quarter, when the Lakers went ahead by 10 points. They only relinquished their double-digit lead once the rest of the game. Kobe Bryant scored 26 points on 19 shots, and Pau Gasol bounced back from a sub-par Game 5 with 17 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists. The Lakers finally received assistance from several other previously under-performing Lakers: Ron Artest delivered 15 points and contributed to Paul Pierce’s 6-for-14 shooting, and Lamar Odom had 8 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. Now those are some impressive figures to give my team a 22 point lead by closing buzzer.
So as always in honor of not just my team but both teams, I will be painting the scores in their rightful position as laid out previously.

165 days down, 200 to go.
After a mammoth 4 billion-mile journey over seven years, a Japanese space probe has returned to Earth, landing in the Australian outback. On board it carried an unique cargo: a capsule containing a sample of dust from the asteroid Itokawa. The Hayabusa probe blazed a spectacular trail over Australia before slamming into the desert. Hayabusa, which means falcon in Japanese, left Earth in 2003, landing on the irregularly shaped asteroid in 2005. and scientists think it managed to pick up a small sample of material. Scientists hope it could unlock secrets of the solar system's formation and shed light on the risk to Earth from asteroid impacts.
As an avid science buff, I am completely geeking over this tremendous scientific achievement. I'm all nerded out as I ponder the idea that these captured particles could be the missing link between asteroids and meteorites that fall to Earth billions of years ago. You can rest assured that I will be paying close attention to thongs as the develop as the Japanese analyze the capsule's contents which is expected to take at least six months. I can't wait for the results.
So for today's addition, I will be painting a signature re-entry streak through the clouds from days 120 & 123 to represent the Hayabusa probe as it blazed its way through the Australian sky.

Despite the dismal performance of the Lakers during Game 5 of the 2010 NBA Playoffs, I'm still gonna ride with them for all it's worth. The Celtics won 92-86 to take a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series. There's nothing much I can say about that.
So for today, I will also be painting the scores in their appropriate positions.

Although my my country lost to Argentina early this morning is South Africa, I still have to pay homage to my team because they put up a very good game. Although they had numerous opportunities to score, they just weren't able to seal the deal and Argentina narrowly took the game with a 1-0 score. Now if you follow football (Soccer for the Americans), you would know that Argentina is a world class team with an icon of a coach and features some to the worlds top and highest paid footballers. So for Nigeria to hold them at bey long enough to only score one goal, that is an impressive feat worth commending.
So in honor of the Nigerian Super Eagles national team, I have decided to paint their emblem which is a green eagle perched on top a football. I will be making this addition right above the 2010 FIFA logo from yesterday which features two footballs. So my eagle would be perched atop one of the balls.

162 days down, 203 to go.
Millions of people in every country in the world will be watching the biggest sporting event ever held in Africa my homeland and as you can tell I am bursting with pride. Nigeria plays Argentina tomorrow June 12th and I am as anxious as an expecting mother. Argentina is definitely a world class team with a coach like soccer legend Diego Maradona. But Nigeria has held it's own in the past and we are one of the top exporters of footballers to professional teams all around the world. So this is sure to be a match to watch.
For today's addition, I will be painting the official logo for the 2010 FIFA World Cup into my sports area right next to my boxing glove from day 72.
